CORPORATE CULTURE
• The guiding principles in a traditional corporate culture
are: Follow instructions given
• Do not make mistakes
• Do not fail
• Do not take initiative
• Stay within your turf and protect your backside
• This restrictive environment is not conducive to creativity,
flexibility, and risk taking
INTRAPRENEUR CULTURE
• The guiding principles of intrapreneurs:
• Aspects of an Entrepreneurial culture are quite different:
• Develop visions, goals, and action plans
• Be rewarded for actions taken
• Suggest, try, and experiment
• Create and develop
• Take responsibility and ownership
CLIMATE FOR INTRAPRENEURSHIP
• In establishing an Intrapreneurial environment, certain
factors and leadership characteristics need to be present.

• Supporting new ideas instead of discouraging them.


• Experimentation, or trail and error is encouraged.
• No inhibiting of creativity of new product development.
• Resources have been available and easily accessible.
• Multidisciplinary team approach to be encouraged.
• Spirit of intrapreneurship cannot be forced on individuals,
it must be voluntary.
• Reward system.
• Support system for successes and failures.
• Intrapreneurial activity must be whole-heartedly supported
by top management.
Personal potential and career for entrepreneurship
• Ambition
• Willingness to Learn
• Ability to Listen
• Creativity
• Assertiveness and Confidence
• Perseverance
• Courage and Risk-taking.
