This study examined the mediating effect of strategic intelligence on the relationship between strategic management practices and organizational entrepreneurship in Iraqi universities. A questionnaire was used to collect data from professors, which was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results showed that strategic management practices positively impact strategic intelligence and entrepreneurship. Strategic intelligence also positively impacts entrepreneurship. Additionally, strategic intelligence was found to have a significant mediating effect on the relationship between strategic management practices and organizational entrepreneurship. Therefore, the study concluded that strategic management influences entrepreneurship, and this relationship is mediated by strategic intelligence.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP MEDIATION EFFECT OF
STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE
ABSTRACT

 The objective of the study was to evaluate the mediating


influence of strategic intelligence in relationship among
strategic management practices and entrepreneurship in Iraqi
university by collecting data from the professors through
questionnaire. The study used random sampling for analysis. The
study concluded that there is significant influence of the
strategic management practices on the organizational
entrepreneurship where the strategic intelligence plays a
significant mediating role among the strategic management
practices and organizational entrepreneurship .
INTRODUCTION

 Universities are more focused on tools and systems in order to make better
decisions so as to survive in the market and enhance the performance while
promoting the entrepreneurship and for achieving thus universities need to
play a sufficiently great role (Patzelt & Shepherd, 2009).
 Entrepreneurship has gain immense attention due to its noteworthy role in the
economic and the social development while involving different social groups in
the economic activities (Kraakam & Hansmann, 2017; Noe et al., 2017).
 With change in society and the nature to business the requirement of changing
strategies also keeps on coming with time being which eventually helps the
firms in working as per changes in industry (Hitt & Duane, 2017).
 The research aimed to analyzed the influence of strategic management on the
organizational entrepreneurship with mediating role of strategic intelligence.
LITERATURE REVIEW

 Strategic Management Practices


 Strategic management involves the systematic maintenance and structuring of success
potential of the firm while focusing on both internal and external factors thus bringing
strength and opportunities while overcoming threats and risks (Hitt & Duane, 2017).
 Strategic management practices include environmental scanning, strategy formulation,
strategy implementation and strategy evalution (Ramandan & Borgonovi, 2016).
 Strategic Intelligence
 Strategic intelligence includes certain actions which help in analyzing the information
related to business in order to achieve goals and objectives for enhancing the performance
of business (Sternberg, 2004).
 Entrepreneurship
 Entrepreneurship includes the abilities to identify and better understand a business
opportunity and act in accordance to avail the opportunity before the competitors identify
them (Bridge & O’Neill, 2012).

 H1: Strategic management practices have a positive impact on strategic


intelligence.
 H2: Strategic intelligence have a positive impact on entrepreneurship.
 H3: Strategic management practices have a positive impact on entrepreneurship.
 H4: The relationship between strategic management practices and
entrepreneurship is positively mediated by strategic intelligence.
METHODOLOGY

 The study was based on Structural Equation Modeling and


used questionnaire as a tool for analysis.
 The study used simple random sampling while using 5
dimensional likert scale and validity of questionnaire was
based on previous literature while the reliability analysis was
0.937 which demonstrated that overall questionnaire was
reliable for study.
 The questionnaires were filled by professors in Iraqi
universities in Baghdad.
RESULTS

 The results of the study indicated that there is significant affect of strategic
management practices on strategic intelligence as the value of significance
p=0.000, t-statistics=7,134 and beta=0.452 hence hypothesis 1 was accepted.
 Furthermore there is positively significant impact of strategic intelligence on
entrepreneurship as the value of significance p=0.000, t-statistics=46.072 and
beta=0.912 which means hypothesis 2 was accepted.
 There is significant affect of strategic management practices on entrepreneurship
as the value of significance p=0.002, t-statistics=3.121 and beta=0.081 which
means hypothesis 3 was accepted.
 There is significant impact of strategic management practices on
entrepreneurship mediated by strategic intelligence as the value of significance
p=0.000, t-statistics=7.131 and beta=0.412 which means hypothesis 4 was
accepted.
CONCLUSION

 The results of the study indicated that there is significantly


mediating impact of strategic intelligence on the relationship
between the strategic management practices and the
organizational entrepreneurship. Along with that the study
illustrated that there positively significant association
between the strategic management practices and the
organizational entrepreneurship. Thus it can be stated that
strategic management cannot be well understood without
involving its influence on the entrepreneurship.
