Winding Resistance Measurement For Main Stator & Rotor, Exciter Stator & Rotor

The document provides instructions for performing an alternator health check, which includes the following tests: 1. Measure insulation resistance (IR) values and winding resistances for the main stator, main rotor, exciter stator, and exciter rotor. 2. Check for tight electrical connections and proper bolt torque. 3. Measure excitation voltage values at no load and under load to check alternator output. 4. Perform a millivolt drop test to check for high resistance connections. The goal is to check the insulation and electrical integrity of the alternator to detect any issues. Proper IR values and resistance readings indicate a healthy alternator, while low values

ALTERNATOR HEALTH CHECK - WARNING

Note :
All IR Value Should be more
than 1 M. If IR is Less, need
Heat Treatment

 Warning! 
There will be Electrical Charge at Positive
Probe Connected Terminal after the IR
Test. You may get Electrical Shock (500 VDC).
Discharge the Charge by Shorting to
Body/Earth momentarily.
ALTERNATOR HEALTH CHECK - WINDING RESISTANCE

 Measure the Winding Resistance for the following & compare with earlier
