Module 3, Preception

Perception refers to how our senses interpret what we see. Optical illusions trick our brains into perceiving something that may not be real. Factors like the object, backgrounds, and the perceiver influence how we see things. Our brains try to make sense of the world by seeing recognizable patterns and shapes, a principle called "grouping". Many optical illusions demonstrate how perception can be influenced or tricked by various visual elements, backgrounds, and contextual cues in an image.

Module 3

Perception
Perception

“Perception refers to the interpretation of what we take

in through our senses. In terms of optical illusions
this means our eyes.”

Simply put, our brains are tricked into seeing

something which may or may not be real.
Factors that
Influence
Perception
 The Object of Perception:
some things in our environment tend to attract attention
 Backgrounds and Surroundings
our surroundings at the moment of perception will
affect our perceptions
 The Perceiver
we each bring unique experiences and personal points
of view to each situation
In order to make sense of our world our brains
try to see patterns or shapes that are
recognizable. This principle is called
“grouping”.
