Inventory Info.
Stock Groups
• Stock Groups in Inventory are similar
to Groups in Accounting Masters.
• They are helpful in the classification
of Stock Items.
• Grouping enables you to locate
Stock Items easily and report their
details in statements.
• You can group Stock Items under
different Stock Groups to reflect
their classification based on some
common features such as brand
name, product type, quality, and so
on

How to create Stock Group
• The following steps create Stock
Groups
• Go to :

• Type Stock Group Name
• Choose Primary
• Accept data to save
Stock Group-example
Stock Items
• Stock Item refers to goods that you
manufacture or trade(sell & purchase).
• It is the primary inventory entity and is the
lowest level of information on your
inventory.
• Stock Items in the Inventory transactions
are similar to ledgers being used in
accounting transactions.
Stock Items..
• To create a Stock Item
in Tally.ERP 9 for each
inventory item;
• Two modes of stock
item creation:
– Normal Mode
– Advance
Configuration Mode.
• Go To:
GWT Inventory Info Stock
ItemCreate/CReate (Single
stock Item/Multiple Stock Items)

Creation of Stock Item in Normal Mode
Note: In F11 Inventory features, if the option Enable
Invoicing is set to No then Rate of Duty field will not be
visible.

Use ALT +C to create ‘Units’ , ‘category’(if any) where


by default both have Not applicable. Note: If Unit field
is Not Applicable then the cursor will move
from Quantity and Rate Field.

only if you opted (Yes) in F11: Features.
Altering a Stock Item
• This option allows you • To Alter a Single Stock
to view and change the Item
details for the existing 
– Single Stock Item master
and 
– Multiple Stock
Item masters
• If a transaction is
entered for a stock
item, it is not possible
to alter the units or GWT Inventory Info
delete the stock item. Stock ItemAlter)
Unit of Measure
• Unit of Measure can be in
different ways, eg. Pcs, Kg,
Btl, lbs, etc
• Go to Inventory Info fro
gateway of Tally
• Go to Unit of Measure
• Choose Create
• Type Symbol of Unit
• Type Formal Name of Unit
• Accept data to save
