Platforms and Applications

Platforms are technologies that are grouped to used as


a base upon which other applications processes or
technologies are developed. Learning platforms are
essential to the vision of emerging ICT and learning for
the future.
Purpose of Online Platforms

1. Create and share materials and information which can be


accessed online.
2. Publish plans and other resources online enabling users to access
them anywhere.
3. Access a variety of materials that can be customized to meet the
needs of the users.

5. Improve digital literacy
6. Become active users by engaging themselves to the issues
through online communication tools.

– A primary goal is to communicate information clearly and

only downside of this is that you are restricted to Facebook’s “one-
size-fits-all” design.

 BLOGGING PLATFORMS – Use to publish your content onto


the internet in the form of a blog. A blog platform is a specific
form of a content management system.

A content management system (CMS) is a software application or set of related


programs that are used to create and manage digital content.
