The Four Domains of


Health; Physical health
 As defined by World Health Organization (WHO), health
is a State of complete physical, mental, spiritual and social
well being, and not merely the absence of disease or
infirmity. Health is a dynamic condition resulting from a
body's constant adjustment and adaptation in response to
stresses and changes in the environment for maintaining
an inner equilibrium called homeostasis. It simply refers
not only to the absence of disease, but also the ability to
recover and bounce back from illness and other problems.
 Health can be viewed in variety of ways, physical health,
intellectual health, social health and spiritual health,
simply called the four domains of health. This paper
presents the physical health.
Physical Health
 Is the state of being free from illness or injury. It
can cover a wide range of areas including healthy
diet. healthy weight, dental health, personal hygiene
and sleep. Physical health is vital for overall well-
being.
Social Health
 Is defined as the state of being where an
individual has the ability to form meaningful
relationships with other people and interact in
healthy and positive ways.
Spiritual Health
 Has been defined as “a state of being where an
individual is able to deal with day-to-day life in a
manner, which leads to the realisation of one’s full
potential; meaning and purpose of life; and
happiness from within.
Psychological Health
 Is a state of mental well-being, such as normal
emotional, behaviour, and social maturity of a
person, one can use to function normally in society
and during everyday events.
Physical Health
 A person who has a state of good physical health,
body functions are working at peak performance,
due not only to a lack of disease but also to regular
exercise, balanced nutrition, and adequate rest. We
receive treatment, when necessary, to maintain the
balance.
Not Maintaining The Balance of Physical Health can result to:

 Obesity
 Asthma
 Diabetes
 Cancer
 Heart disease, and more

 The risk of That’s why there’s what we call


Physical wellbeing, it involves pursuing a healthful
lifestyle to decrease diseases.

Maintaining The Balance of Physical
Health or Maintaining Physical
Fitness can cause for a Good Health
for Example
 It protects and develop the endurance of a person's breathing
 Good/ healthy heart function
 Muscular strength
 Flexibility
 body composition, and more
  
 Physical health and well-being also help reduce the risk of an
injury or health issue. Examples include minimizing hazards in the
workplace, practicing safe sex, practicing good hygiene, or
avoiding the use of tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs.

Ways to maximize physical wellness
 Exercise! Even walking 30 minutes a day three times a week will greatly
improve your health.

 Eat Healthy. Avoid fried foods, soft drinks, processed meats, and sweets.
Try to include 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet everyday.

 Don't skip meals. Especially breakfast, it slows down your metabolic rate
and can cause weight gain.

 Avoid heavy episodic drinking and drug use. No more than five drinks in
one sitting for men and four for women. Don't play drinking games and
space drinks over time alternating with a glass of water.

 Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep every night.
