Types of tablets

Convertible tablets
These typically have a display that
rotates 180 degrees and can be
folded to close, screen up, over an
integrated hardware keyboard.
Convertible models may allow
user input through a variety of
methods in addition to the
hardware keyboard, including
natural handwriting with a stylus
 or digital pen and typing through
a screen-based software keyboard
.

Hybrid tablets.
✘ Sometimes referred to
as convertible or hybrid
notebooks, a hybrid is
like a regular notebook,
but has a removable
display that functions
independently as a
slate.

Rugged tablets
✘ . A slate-like model that is
designed to withstand rough
handling and extreme
conditions. Rugged tablets
are usually encased in a
thick protective shell and
have shock-protected hard
drives.

Slate tablet
✘ Slate PC, a tablet is a
portable computer that
accepts hand-printed lettering
and is operated either with a 
stylus or your fingers. Unlike
a traditional computer a tablet
 does not have a keyboard or
mouse and are much lighter
and smaller than a portable
computer.

E - Reader
✘ An e-reader, also called an e-book reader or e-
book device, is a mobile electronic device that
is designed primarily for the purpose of reading
digital e-books and periodicals.
✘ Any device that can display text on a screen may
act as an e-reader; however, specialized e-
reader devices may optimize portability,
readability, and battery life for this purpose. Their
main advantages over printed books are
portability, since an e-reader is capable of
holding thousands of books while weighing less
than one book, and the convenience provided
due to add-on features.

✘ Wearable means something that one can
wear. Technology refers to a new device. So,
wearable technology refers to clothing or
accessories that have technology integrated
in it.

✘ It is a futuristic phone concept.which is
available in the form of the wrist band
and has 16 GB and 32 GB storage
options .
✘ It is available in ten colors. It is
waterproof and can be used as a
standalone device or along with the
smartphone.
✘ Digital Phone Band is integrated with a
pico projector. This device turns into a
smartphone every time you twist your
wrist.

✘ You can keep a watch on your
dental health by Bluetooth
enabled toothbrush .
✘ The toothbrush as a
Bluetooth. It is connected with
a smartphone.
✘ It gives real- feedback on the
way you brush your teeth. It
also tracks your progress. The
brush is available from Oral-B,
Kolibri.

✘ Wellograph analyses your
pulse readings over a time
period (Fig L13). It shows
how your fitness level has
changed or improved. It can
also tell whether you can
exercise more or should
continue to rest
