ABSTRACT
 This project is aimed to reduce the manual work involved in booking in a Car Rental.
 This project is developed mainly to simplify the manual work of customers which is
time consuming.
 The purpose of the project is to computerize the operations of a Car Rental and to
develop software which is user friendly, simple, fast, and cost – effective.
 It deals with the collection of Users, Cars, Feedback and Customer information, Fare
details, etc. Traditionally, it was done manually.
 It reduces errors and customers are satisfied.

INTRODUCTION
 This project is aimed to reduce the manual work involved in data maintenance in a Car Rental and automates the Car
Rental Management System.
 This project is developed mainly to simplify the manual work and allows smooth administration of the operations of
renting car.
 The purpose of the project is to computerize the administrative operations of a Car Rental and to develop software which
is user friendly, simple, fast, and cost – effective.
 It deals with the collection of Users, Cars, Feedback and Customer information, Fare details, etc. Traditionally, it was done
manually. The main function of the system is to enter and store User, Car details and retrieve these details as and when
required, and also to manipulate these details meaningfully.
EXISTING SYSTEM
 In the existing system,which is the traditional system, in which the client needs
to go the office and book manually,which requires physical and mental
efforts.
 In traditional system,there are many chances of human errors like wrong entry
of journey date,journey time and destination as everything is recorded
manually in a register by an employee,thereby increasing the chances of a mis-
registration.
 Chances of improper communication are high which may result in delay of
service.
The level of sharing of information was very weak.
 It consumes lots of unnecessary time and efforts,thereby making it not feasible
for customers who do not have time to spare on such bookings while leading
their fast lives.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
 The online process of renting a vehicle is developed.
 The software is prepared by programming language PHP and MySQL
database.
 The software will manage all the functionalities of the college and promote
the college among the student fraternities all over the world.
 The software is user friendly and error free.
 They can go online and reserve any kind of vehicle they want and that is
available.
TASK PERFORMED
The aim of this project is to develop a web application for car rental

1. Created home page for guest users along with
about us page and contact us page.
2. Created login page and registration page for user

or admin to login.
3. Create user accounts where customer can see car

booking history of his account and book the car.
4. The admin account can approve the car

appointment.

CONCLUSION
 This project is successfully implemented with all the features mentioned in system requirements specification.
 Car rental system has emerged with new goodies compared to the past experience where every activity concerning car rental
business is limited to the physical location only.
 Even though the physical location has not been totally eradicated, the nature of functions and how these functions are
achieved has been reshaped by the power of internet.
 Nowadays customers can reserve cars online, rent cars online, and have the car brought to their doorstep once the customer
has been a registered member or go to the office to pick the car.
 The web based car rental system has offered an advantage both to the customers and the car rental company to efficiently
and effectively manage the business and satisfy customer’s needs at the click of a button.
 All the gathered and added information can be saved and can be accessed any time.
