The Prophet (peace be upon him) is born.


Death of Amina

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)


becomes orphan at an early age. His mother
Amina dies in Madina while visiting her relatives.
Death of Abd-al-
Muttalib

The Prophet (peace be upon him) loses another of


his guardians. This time it is his grandfather Abd-
al-Muttalib who dies. His uncle Abu Talib now
becomes the next guardian of Prophet and
remains his guardian for next 40 years or so.
Journey to Syria

One of the very few details known to us about the


childhood of the Prophet (peace be upon him). It is
said that he went to Syria with his uncle Abu Talib
and met a monk named Bahira who foretells of his
prophethood.
Marriage to
Khadijah (R)

After taking her caravan on a business trip to


Syria, Khadijah (R) is informed of his nobility and
good characteristics. She asks for his hand in
marriage.
The first
revelation

Prophet Muhamad (peace be upon him) receives


first revelation at a cave in mount Hira.
Islam is made
public

After three years of preaching to known associates


only, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
receives instruction from Allah to take the
message of Islam to public.
Persecution of
the Muslims

The persecution of the Muslims becomes worse


and some muslims migrate to Abyssinia.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) loses his


beloved wife lady Khadijah and very soon his
uncle and chief protector Abu Talib also dies.
Journey to Taif

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) goes to


Taif, a city outside Makkah to invite the rulers of
Taif to Islam.

Migration to
Madina

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)


migrates to Madina as the situation in Makkah
becomes life threatening. This marks as the first
year of Islamic Calendar.

The Battle of Uhud takes place.

The Battle of the Trench takes place.


Treaty of
Hudaibiya

A truce is agreed for 10 years permitting anyone


to enter a bond with the Prophet (peace be upon
him). However anyone escaping the Quraysh to
Madinah must be returned to Makkah, and this
was not the same for the muslims.
Conquest of
Makkah

Muslims conquest Makkah without any bloodshed.


Farewell
pilgrimage

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)


performs his final pilgrimage. He addresses over
100,000 pilgrims in a speech known as the last
sermon.

23 years after the first revelation, at the age of


63, the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) comes to an end.
