three dimensions- height, width, and depth. SPACE •It refers to the distance or area- between, around, above, and below- within objects all objects occupy space. A space that is TEXTURE • It is the surface quality of an object. BALANCE •It is the placement of all the elements of the composition so that their visual weights seem evenly distributed. •It is the quality which makes the composition of the artwork • 3 kinds of balance: 1.FORMAL BALANCE OR SYMMETRICAL BALANCE- a type of balance in which the contents on either side of a center line are exactly the same. One side would mirror the other. 2.INFORMALBALANCE OR ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE- a type of balance in which the two sides of an artwork are not exactly alike, yet still appears pleasantly even. 3.RADIAL BALANCE- when all the elements in the composition radiate outward from the center or toward it.
