Conditional Sentences PTT

A conditional sentence states a condition and the outcome if that condition occurs. It has two clauses: an if clause stating the condition and a main clause stating the result. There are four types of conditional sentences that use different verb tenses to indicate the probability of the condition occurring: zero conditional for general truths using present tenses, first conditional for possible future events, second conditional for unlikely events, and third conditional for hypothetical past events. The zero conditional, also called a "real" conditional, uses the present simple in both clauses to describe general facts that are always true when a condition occurs.

What is a Conditional Sentence?
A conditional sentence is a type of sentence that
states a condition and the outcome of that
condition occurring.
A conditional sentence is a sentence that
expresses a condition. A condition is
something that can only happen IF something
else occurs.
A conditional sentence tells the “conditions” in
which something happens.
We have the condition and the result of the
condition
Formation of a condition sentences
Conditional sentences usually have two parts, known
as clauses. One of these is a result clause; the
other is an if clause.
These sentences are in two halves (clauses): the if
part (if clause) the other (main clause)

Types of Conditional Sentences
There are four types of conditional sentences.

• Zero Conditional Sentences

• First Conditional Sentences
• Second Conditional Sentences
• Third Conditional Sentences
Each type of conditional sentences uses different
tenses to show the difference in the degree of
probability.

Using of zero conditional
• ZERO CONDITIONAL is a structure used for talking
about general truths -- things which always happen
under certain conditions (note that most zero
conditional sentences will mean the same thing if
"when" is used instead of "if"). The zero conditional
is used to talk about things which are always true --
scientific facts, general truths
• The condition is used when facts or things are
always true; the time is not specific; if has the
same meaning as when
Examples of how to use the zero
conditional

marks.
• If you heat water to 100°C, it boils
