INTRODUCTION
• Use of IOT devices for making irrigation system automated in which the irrigation will be
monitored by remote devices and to save water and reduce human intervention in the agriculture
field.
• Irrigation is the artificial application of water to the land or soil.
• It is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops, maintenance of landscapes, and revegetation
of disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of inadequate rainfall.
• Irrigation also has a few other uses in crop production, which include protecting plants against frost.
• There are many devices automated for solving the issue of irrigating land but yet our farmer need iot
based smart devices .
MOTIVATION
• The motivation for this project came from the countries where economy is based on
agriculture and the climatic conditions lead to lack of rains & scarcity of water. The
farmers working in the farm lands are solely dependent on the rains and bore wells for
irrigation of the land.
• Pump be turned on/off, saves a lot time for the farmers. This also gives much needed rest
to the farmers, as they don’t have to go and turn the pump on/off manually.
• Even if the farm land as a water-pump, manual intervention by farmers is required to turn
the pump on/off whenever needed.
• The aim of our project is to minimize this manual intervention by the farmer, which is
why we are using Node-MCU .
OBJECTIVE

IFTTT (If This Then That) is an open source web-based service. This is
used to provide alerts by linking cloud with the various web services
like Gmail. Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, Pin interest etc.
In our application we have connected IFTTT with the Telegram when
PIR sensor detects someone moving around the field then the farmer
will get the notification about predators’ presence in the field.
It sends the notification of moisture level of soil and also sends the
notification of Turn on and Turn off the Pump.
• START-INTIALIZATION-INSTALLATION OF WIFI/BLUETOOTH/IF CONDITION SENSOR(ALL
SENSOR'S DATA UPDATED ON TCP IP APP)-
• 1]IF(TEMP>60)=ALARM ON
• 2]IF(TEMP<60)=ALARM OFF
• 3]IF (SOIL>=500) AND (SOIL <700)=PLENTY WATER
• 4]IF (SOIL>700)=MOTOR ON
• 5]IF (SOIL<500)=MOTTOR OFF
SCREEN SHOT
OUTPUT DATA DISPLAY IN THINGSPEAK
• THE TOTAL ADDRESSABLE MARKET FOR SMART AGRICULTURE IS EXPECTED TO GROW FROM
USD 13.7 BILLION IN 2015 TO 26.8 BILLION BY 2020 WITH A COMPOUND ANNUAL GROWTH RATE
(CAGR) OF 14.3%.
• AGRICULTURE CONSUMES NEARLY 70% OF FRESH WATER. SINCE WATER SCARCITY IS
BECOMING AN INCREASINGLY SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM ACROSS THE GLOBE, THE EFFICIENT
UTILIZATION OF WATER FOR AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRES MORE ATTENTION. PROPER
TECHNOLOGIES CAN HELP REDUCE WATER CONSUMPTION BY 10%. APPLICATIONS SUCH AS
SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEMS WILL HELP TO SAVE WATER IN AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS.
LEVERAGING IOT FOR WATER CONSERVATION WILL BE A MAJOR TREND IN THE FUTURE OF
AGRICULTURE.
• FRAGMENTED AGRICULTURAL MARKET
• HIGH CAPITAL INVESTMENT REQUIREMENT
• DATA MANAGEMENT FOR AGRICULTURAL DECISION MAKING
• LACK OF CONNECTING SERVICES FOR THE AGRICULTURAL MARKET
• PRECISION FARMING
• SMART IRRIGATION
• VARIABLE RATE TECHNOLOGY (VRT)
• AGRICULTURE DRONES
• SOIL MONITORING SYSTEMS
• SMART GREENHOUSE
• PRECISION LIVESTOCK FARMING
• YIELD MONITORING
• FARM MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (FMSS)
CONCLUSION
• We can also use solar panel for providing electrical energy in remote area.
