and Values
Value
Value is derived from Latin
word, valere, to be worth, be
strong something intrinsically
valuable or desirable.
Develop
Is to acquire gradually, by
successive changes, to move
from the original position to one
providing more opportunity for
effective use.
Values development
Is the act, process or result of
developing the values for a Human
Dignity.
The Filipino Core Values
The Values Education program of
the Department of Education (DepEd)
identifies human dignity as the supreme
value that characterizes education: the
human person is of infinite value. It
occupies the center and the core
values that flow from it. The core values
are as follows and are explained
together with the related values which
are indicated in the 1987 Philippine
Constitution:

knowledge
in all its
forms.

the value of

appreciation of these strengths and weaknesses.
We must take a good look to ourselves –
objectively, with scientific detachment and also
emotionally, lovingly and when appropriate, with
disgust… We must change. And understanding
ourselves is the first step”.
She identifies the roots of the Filipino
characters and values in many factors
such as:

3.) culture and language,
4.) history,
5.) educational system,
6.) religion,
7.) the economic environment
8.) the political ebvironment,
9.) mass media
10.) leadership and role models.
Strengths and Weaknesses of the Filipino, Senator
