Computer Processing

This document provides information about a teaching lesson on computer processing. It defines computer processing as the actions performed by a central processing unit when it receives information. It also lists and describes five different types of computer processing: interactive computing, transaction processing, batch processing, real-time computing, and near-real time computing.

09:00 – 12:00 PM
ROOM 107
MS. NHAIZA INASORIA
LESSON 4:
Computer Processing
GROUP ACTIVITY:

Direction: Each group will fall in line,

then the first member of the group at the
bottom of the line will read the question
and pass it until it reach the last student
at the front of the line who will write the
answer on the board.

What is Computer?
A computer is a device
that can be instructed to
carry out an arbitrary set
of arithmetic or logical
operations automatically.
FOUR
COMPONENTS
OF COMPUTER
I. Input Device
Input devices are
used to provide input
and instructions to be
processed to the
computer. These
devices are also called
peripheral devices and
include mouse,
keyboard, microphone,
scanner etc.
II. Output Device
Output devices
include monitor and
printers which are
used for displaying
the results of the
instructions
processed by the
computer.
C. Central
Processing Unit
( CPU )

CPU is the main

component of the
computer which is
responsible for
data processing.
D. Memory
Memory then has
further types such
as RAM, ROM and
secondary storage
devices. All these
components work
together to perform
the various
commands given
by the user.
What is Computer Processing?
Computer Processing is an action or
series of actions that a microprocessor, also
known as a central processing unit (CPU), in
a computer performs when it receives
information.
Five Different Types
Of Computer
Processing
1. Interactive
Computing
Interactive
Computing refers
to software which
accepts input from
humans as it runs.
2. Transaction
Processing
Transaction
Processing is
information processing in
computer science that is
divided into individual,
indivisible operations
called transactions. Each
transaction must
succeed or fail as a
complete unit; it can
never be only partially
complete.
3. Batch
Processing
Batch Processing is the
execution of a series of
jobs in a program on a
computer without manual
intervention (non-
interactive). Strictly
speaking, it is a processing
mode: the execution of a
series of programs each
on a set or "batch" of
inputs, rather than a single
input (which would instead
be a custom job).
4. Real-Time
Computing

Real-Time
Computing (RTC),
or reactive
computing
describes hardware
and software
systems subject to
a "real-time
constraint".
5. Near-Real
Time Computing
Near Real-Time Computing,
in telecommunications and
computing, refers to the time
delay introduced, by
automated data processing
or network transmission,
between the occurrence of
an event and the use of the
processed data, such as for
display or feedback and
control purposes.

explanation about the Computer
Processing. Write at least 5
sentences in your notebook.
