False Ceiling

False ceilings are installed below the main ceiling to improve aesthetics, hide ducting, provide insulation and acoustic control. They use a grid system of main tees, cross tees, hangers and wall angles to suspend ceiling tiles. Popular false ceiling materials include POP, gypsum board and mineral fiber. POP sheet sizes available are 2'x3' and 3'x3' while gypsum tiles come in 2'x2' and 4'x6' thicknesses. Installation of false ceilings reduces noise and improves the interior appearance of a room.

TYPES OF FALSE CEILING :-

1. POP FALSE CEILING

• Fix the wall support and frame work members.
• Apply the insulation panels over the framework members.
• Fix the first ceiling panel to the left side against the wall.
• An 8mm expansion gap should be given between the panel and wall.
