Organic Architecture

Organic architecture aims to create harmony between buildings and their natural surroundings. It uses locally-available materials and strives to blend interior and exterior spaces. Some key projects presented that exemplify organic architecture principles include Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright, which is built partially over a waterfall using local stone, and Zaha Hadid's London Aquatics Centre, with its unique wave-like roof form. The presentation provided examples of both historic and contemporary organic architecture from prominent architects.
