Silkworm Growth Monitoring Smart Sericulture System Based On Internet of Things and Image Processing

The document presents a system for monitoring the growth of silkworm using IoT sensors and image processing. The system uses a DHT11 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity of the silkworm rearing area. Images of the silkworm are captured and processed using color detection algorithms to analyze the silkworm's growth and detect any abnormalities. If critical temperature conditions are detected, an SMS alert is sent using a GSM module. The system aims to continuously monitor parameters important for proper silkworm development and growth.

Introduction
• Internet of Things(IOT) is an organization of set of
network connections and network system.
• The art of culturing silkworm for the production of silk is
termed as sericulture.
• The lifecycle of silkworm consists of 4 stages.

Introduction continued…
 The moistness and temperature take part a critical position
in the progression of silk worm.
 The proposed framework includes IOT empowered with
WPAN system.
 The framework includes Arduino UNO, GSM Module and
DHT11 sensor to monitor growth of silkworm and get the
alert message using GSM module.
 Color Image processing is used to predict the normal and
abnormal state of the silkworm.

Problem Statement
 Proper maintenance of moistness and temperature which
take part a critical position in the progression of solid
silkworm in each stages.
 Continuous growth monitoring of silkworm using camera.
Objectives
 Continuous growth monitoring of Silk worm in each stage
of its lifecycle using camera.
 DHT11 sensor is used to check the temperature and
humidity of silk worm rearing area.
 Image processing techniques are used to predict normal
and abnormal growth of silkworm.
Methodology
It includes two process
1.Sericulture system monitoring
2.Image processing of Sericulture
Sericulture system monitoring

Image Processing
 The raw data(captured image) gathered through the serial
camera.
 The raw data is subjected to processing.
There are 3 stages of processing:
1.Pre processing.
2.Enhancement and display.
3.Information extraction.
Hardware and software requirements
Hardware requirements:
1. Arduino UNO
2.DHT11 sensor
3.GSM Sim900A

Software requirements:
1.Arduino IDE
2.Image processing
Expected Result
