Step 1: Access Google Webmaster & Create Property


 Sign into company Google account

 In Upper Right corner, click “Add Property”
 Enter in Career Site URL

Step 2: Verify Ownership


 Select “HTML tag” under the “Other verification
methods” section
– https://www.google.com/webmasters/
 Copy the meta name code between the
parenthesis
– In example shown:

 In a separate window/tab, access Career Site
Builder (CSB)
– Global > Settings
 In the “Site” section, paste the meta code into
the “Google Webmaster ID” section
– In example shown:

– Note: do not include parenthesis
 When completed, click “Save” in the upper right

 Going back the to Google tab, click the “Verify
button under the HTML tag

 Once verified, a confirmation screen should


come up. Click “Go To Property”

Step 3: Submit Sitemaps


 In the Property Menu, Select Index > Sitemaps
– https://www.google.com/webmasters/
 Once open, you should have the screen “Add a new sitemap”
 Going back to CSB, obtain the “sitemap” URLs from Global >
Settings: Site Map
 Paste the sitemap subfolder sections of the URL
– Example:
▫ Career Site URL: jobs.testingsite.com
▫ Main Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/testingsitemap.xml
▫ Category Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/cat_testingsitemap.xml
– While submitting a sitemap, an error of “Couldn’t fetch” may
appear under the status. This should be temporary and
should change to “Success” when page is refreshed.

Step 1: Access Bing Webmaster & Create Site


 Sign into company Bing account
– https://www.bing.com/webmaster/home/mysites
 Under “My Sites”, enter in Career Site URL into “Add a Site”
section and click “Add”
 Add the sitemap URL from CSB and click “Add”

Step 2: Verify Ownership


 In order to validate the site and submit the
sitemap, similar to Google, the meta code will
need to be copied.
– In example shown:

– Note: do not include parenthesis
 When completed, click “Save” in the upper right

Step 3: Submit Sitemaps


 Once open, you should have the screen “Submit a sitemap”
 Going back to CSB, obtain the “sitemap” URLs
 Paste the sitemap subfolder sections of the URL
– Example:
▫ Career Site URL: jobs.testingsite.com
▫ Main Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/testingsitemap.xml
▫ Category Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/cat_testingsitemap.xml
