WHAT IS A HIGHRISE BUILDING ?


 Emporise standards defines a high-rise as "A multi-story structure between 35–
100 meters tall, or a building of unknown height from 12–39 floors.
 The Pune Municipal Corporation defines a high rise as” a tall building or a multi-
storied structure between 35 to 100 metres high for residential.
 High-rise buildings became possible with the invention of the elevators(lift) and
less expensive, more abundant building materials.

STRUCTURAL SYSTEM
 FOUNDATION –
• In akashparv they have used stepped foundation as it
constructed on a hilly area.
• Depth of the foundation is 2.5 mtrs.
• M30 ,M35 grade concrete is used and steel fe500
• As the natural surface of the ground is sloped, the
most economical solution is stepped foundation.
• This helps to minimize the amount of excavation and
below-ground wall construction that would
otherwise be required.
• Each step in the foundation should be no higher than
the thickness of the foundation. The foundation at
the higher level should also overlap the
lower foundation, typically by at least twice the
height of the step, or by the thickness of
the foundation, or by at least 300 mm.
• Drainage must be carefully designed to eliminate the
danger of instability due to
accumulating water pressure.
STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

COLUMN-
• Column size provided were 230x1500mm,
230x2000mm, 230x750mm .
• RCC frame structure is been provided .
• Material used for column is reinforced concrete
of M25 grade and steel Fe500.

BEAM-
• Beam size provided is 230x750mm

SLAB-
• Slab type provided is
conventional.
• Depth of the slab
is 150 mm.

 Services like fire fighting, water supply ,drainage, garbage disposal ,electrical, were provided
FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM

• Fire escape staircase is been provided for evacuation of


people at times of fire with a fire shaft attached to it .
• The fire shaft blows fresh with the help of blowers placed
above terrace level.
• The fire escape route and also individual flats are
provided with sprinkler system and smoke detecters .
• Sprinklers are placed at 3m centre to centre at a 65degree
bursting point.
• Refuge area of 80 to 90 sq.ft is to be provided.
• Fire hydrants are provided at every floor level

GARBAGE DISPOSAL: ( REFUGE CHUTE )


 Proper garbage disposal was done on the site.
 Refuge chutes were provided
 Committee was provided for collection of garbage from various wings

MATERIALS

Materials used were:


Concrete, steel, fly ash bricks, AAC blocks(Autoclaved Aerated Concrete
),bricks
CONCRETE:
 Concrete is a composite material, consisting mainly of Portland cement,
water and aggregate (gravel, sand or rock ).
 Its uses range from structural applications, to paviours, kerbs, pipes and
drains.
STEEL:

 Structural steel shapes are developed from steel that is formed out of a

Rebar steel:
 Rebar steel is also known as reinforcing steel.
Mild steel.
 Mild steel is also known as plain carbon steel.
Fly ash bricks
 Fly ash bricks are used in building industry. Fly ash Sand-Lime bricks:
Building industry.
 Fly ash sand-lime bricks can be used as an alternative material for burnt
clay bricks which is one of the important building materials used for
construction of housing and buildings.
 Fly ash concrete can be used to reduce the cost of construction and has the
potential to minimize the damage caused due to high temperature.

 The building was located on hill, so there was no ventilation issues.


 Proper services like fire fighting, sewage disposal, rainwater harvesting, etc were provided.
 Proper use of materials and spaces were done.
 The passage in the buildings were not properly ventilated and no natural light was there in the
passage due to the duct
