BALANGAY SHRINE MUSEUM (libertad)
 It is a small open-air museum which houses one out of the nine “balangays,” an old
wooden boat, discovered on 1970’s by the local treasure hunters.
 The balangay is said to be more than 300 years old which measures 15 meters long and 3
meters wide.
CENTURY OLD BITAUG TREE (MAGALLANES)

 A 500-year old tree announced by


the Philippine Centennial
Commission as a centennial tree.
 It is lit by fireflies at night making
it a natural beacon for night
fishermen.
On June 23, 2017, the branches of the Bitaug was broke according to the residence near at
the tree. The breakage of its huge branches was due to the center rot caused by fungus
inside it.

mass is Mindanao April 8, 1521.

 The longest navigable river in
Mindanao.

ATEGA ANCESTRAL HOME  Built in 1904.
 Home of the Atega family that originated
from the Spanish Friar Father Pedro
Garcia.
 It was built by a revolutionary leader
named Don Andres Atega.
MT. MAYAPAY Located in Butuan City.
The distinct, flat ‘tabletop’ summit of Mt.
Mayapay has served as a landmark for Butuan.
This mountain was named from the ancient
Madjapahit Empire (HINDU EMPIRE).

The biggest march in the country and is host to diverse species of birds.
This is where Lolong was captured, the biggest (salt water) crocodile (September 3, 2011 ).

THE GIANT TOOG TREE
(San Francisco)
300 years old tree and considered as the tallest tree in the Philippines.
has a height of 280 feet and a diameter of 7 meters.
It can grow to the height of 85 meters

PINAGALAAN FALLS
the biggest and tallest falls in the city and known to
be the most beautiful place in the province of
Agusan del Sur.

Pinagalaan Cascades
AGUSAN MARCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (BUNAWAN)
It is considered as one of the most
ecologically significant wetlands in the
Philippines encompassing about 14,000
hectares of interconnecting rivers,
channels, lakes, swamp forests and
hydrophytic plants.
Aside from bird-watching,
sightseeing, cruising with a dug-out
canoe, and possible swimming, you’ll
also get to experience the life and
culture of the Manobo Tribe.
ONGOP CAVE
It has a huge opening and inside the
cave, waters are coming from different
directions but local drink it believing that
it is a source of healing that cures
different illnesses.
Amazing stalactites and stalagmite
formations can be found in the cave. One
of the most prominent formation is the
“Golden Staircase“.
Ongop Cave is located in Sitio Ongop,
Barangay Mabuhay, Prosperidad, Agusan
del Sur.

 Was celebrated every September 10-11.


 “Pasayan” is the local word for shrimp, which is
bountiful in the area.
 Was celebrated every October 2.
 this festival showcases different styles in preparing ”kinilaw”,
KINILAW FESTIVAL a dish consisting of raw fish.

A tear drop shape island in the Philippine sea.
Situated 196 kilometres southeast of Tacloban in the province of Surigao
del Norte.
A famous diving site
SOHOTON CAVE (Socorro)
Full of unique rock formations.
Has underground lagoon with green waters.
Passable only during low tide.
DAY-ASAN FLOATING VILLAGE
It is fondly coined by locals as ”Little Venice of Surigao
City”,
It is a fishing community that consist of houses on
wooden stilts or rock piles in shallow water and along a
mangrove forest.

MT. REDONDO NATURAL BONSAI FOREST
 Known as the second Highest mountain the province of Dinagat Island that is covered with Bonsai trees.
 Located in town of Loreto.
 It is a distinctive forest where uncommon bonsai plants grow abundantly.
 It was renowned as the province major tourist icon.
OUANO LAGOON
 Located in Libjo, Dinagat Island
 It is hidden from the rock formation
between barangay Arellano and Plaridel.
 The perpetual serenity of the place adds
ecstasy to its deep bluish clear water
which is ideal for swimming and floating
cottages.
CAMPIJAGIT POINT
 Located in Cagdianao, Dinagat Island.
 A mystique Island that offers majestic waves that are good for surfing.
PANGABANGAN ISLAND
An island that is blessed with fine-white-sand and rock formation
tower over the clear water with wonderful coral reefs.
With a size of about 2.5 hectares.
This island is located in Libjo, Dinagat Islands.
SUNDAYO BEACH
 Located in Hagakgak Island, Basilisa, Dinagat Island.
 Known for snorkelling with islets in different shapes and sizes that surrunounds it.
LAKE BABABU
 A mountain lake enclosed by walls of
granite and surrounded by wild trees.
CAMPINTAC BLACK BEACH
 A strategic area where U.S. liberators landed
on October 17, 1944.
 It was the start of the liberation of the
Philippines World War II.
