Forest Fire Monitoring & Detection System (With Cloud Monitoring)

This document describes a forest fire monitoring and detection system using sensors interfaced with an Arduino node MCU. The system detects forest fires using temperature and flame sensors and alerts rescue teams by sending messages over the internet using WiFi. It aims to reduce losses from forest fires by providing early detection and alerts. When fires or high temperatures are detected, it sends alerts to users' phones or laptops. The system monitors forests in real-time and could help pinpoint fire locations to aid firefighting efforts.

ABSTRACT
A fire detector using Arduino node MCU which is interfaced with a
temperature sensor and fire sensor. The temperature sensor senses the heat and
the fire sensor senses any fire generated due to burning or fire. Whenever fire
triggered, it burns objects nearby and produces a fire sensor. A fire alarm can also
be triggered due to the forest fire. Also, whenever temperature heat intensity is
high then also the alarm goes on. The alarm is turned off whenever the
temperature goes to normal and smoke level reduces. With the help of IoT
technology, we have tried to make it smarter by connecting the whole monitoring
process to the cloud server naming- “Fire Security System“. Whenever it detects
fire or smoke then it instantly alerts the user about the fire through the Wi-Fi
module. The user gets to know about the prevailing condition message. It intimates
the user about fire detection.

INTRODUCTION TO IOT
Internet of Things (IoT) technology has brought revolution to each and
every field of common man’s life by making everything smart and intelligent. IoT
refers to a network of things which make a self-configuring network. The
development of Intelligent Smart Farming IoT based devices is day by day turning
the face of agriculture production by not only enhancing it but also making it cost-
effective and reducing wastage.

INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT
The objective of the system is to improve the communication speed and to
reduce the damage occurred due to fire accident in forests. Message can be send
over long range using WiFi module in the NodeMCU. Mobile phones or laptops is
used to display the information received from NodeMCU through WiFi module.
This project focuses on integrating the existing technology with added features of
sending messages using WiFi technology. The received information will display on
the laptop or smartphone. These information will transmit over long distance
because the main feature of WiFi technology is to cover long range, secure and
reliable.

EXISTING SYSTEM:

 The forest fire can be detected ,but the losses cannot be reduced.
 There is no real time system to pinpoint the location of forest fire.

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY SENSOR
The humidity sensor detects both
moisture and air temperature. Humidity is
defined as the level of water present in
the surrounding air. The device which is
used to measure the humidity of the
atmosphere is called Hygrometer. If it
senses any abnormal situation then the
alert message will be sent to the Forest
department

FLAME SENSOR
A flame-sensor is one kind of
detector which is mainly designed for
detecting as well as responding to the
occurrence of a fire or flame. The flame
detection response can depend on its
fitting. It includes an alarm system, a
natural gas line, propane & a fire
suppression system

CONCLUSION
Early warning and immediate response to a fire breakout are the only ways
to avoid great losses and environmental and cultural heritage damages. Hence, the
most important goals in fire surveillance are quick and reliable detection and
localization of the fire. It is much easier to suppress a fire when the starting
location is known, and while it is in its early stages. Information about the progress
of fire is also highly valuable for managing the fire during all its stages. Based on
this information, the fire fighting staff can be guided on target to block the fire
before it reaches cultural heritage sites and to suppress it quickly by utilizing the
required fire fighting equipment and vehicles.

FUTURE SCOPE
The future scope of this system can be implemented by adding some other
sensors to measure several parameters in the forest. Network can be formed in the
forest by using multiple nodeMCU and also to display the measurements from the
sensors on notice board.
