Part I. Write T if the statement is true or F if it is
false about the story, “The Gorgon’s Head”

1.Poseidon is the father of Perseus.


2.Danae is the mother of Perseus.
3.King Acrisius imprisoned Danae and Perseus in
a high tower.
4.King Acrisius ordered that Danae and Perseus
be placed in a treasure box, and were thrown
in the sea.
5.Medusa is a monster from the seas.
6. Zeus went inside Danae’s prison as a rain
of gold.
7. Perseus stole one eye from the 3 sisters of
Medusa.
8. Perseus’ weapons were a winged sandals,
a sword, golden shield and a golden cap.
9. Perseus was able to fly because of his pair
of sandals with wings.
10. Medusa’s head made Polydectes into a
stone on his wedding day.
Part II. Arrange the events in order. Number

A. King Polydectes became a stone on his wedding day.
B. King Polydectes challenged Perseus to get the Medusa’s
head as his way of getting rid of Perseus.
C. King Acrisius received a bad news from the fortune teller
that his future grandson will kill him and will become a king.
D. Both Danae and her son Perseus were placed in a treasure
box by King Acrisius’ so both would perish from the sea for
good.
E. A fisherman named Dictys found Danae & Perseus and took

GROUP ACTIVITY
Choose 2 of the 5 different activities your group would
like to work on.
1)A timeline of the important events in Perseus’ story.
2)A Venn diagram comparing Medusa w/ King Polydectes or
King Acrisius. You may wish to compare the 3 of them.
3)A picture of Perseus with his weapons and Medusa’s head.
Write 3 sentences to summarize Perseus’ story.
4)Create a diagram to show the relationship of Perseus with the
other characters in the story. Make a drawing of the main
characters also.
5)Illustrate Medusa’s head. For each snake on her hair, mention
the 5 evils of our society we must overcome or fight (e.g. drug
addiction, corruption). Mention possible solutions to fight each
problems w/ a drawing of a sword.
