Per Unit - Power System

The document describes a power system consisting of a generator producing 13.2kV, a 5MVA transformer stepping up the voltage to 132kV, a 10MVA transformer stepping down the voltage to 69kV, and a load. It provides the transformer ratings and impedances, line impedance, and load impedance. It asks to draw the per-unit diagram, calculate various currents and voltages, and determine the base values for the system.

Generator output = 13.

2kV (3-phase)
Transformer, T1 - 5MVA, 13.2kV(∆)/132kV(Y) ; XT1 = 10%
Transformer, T2 - 10MVA, 138kV(Y)/69kV(∆) ; XT2 = 8%
Line impedance, ZLINE = 10 + j100 Ω
Load impedance, ZLOAD = 300Ω
Use SB = 10 MVA for the entire system and the voltage base at the
transmission line is VB_12 =138kV.
1. Draw the per unit diagram with all details of the system.
2. Calculate the generator current (IG) and the transmission line
current (ILINE).
3. Calculate the load current (ILOAD), load voltage (VL), and the power
to the load

• Resistive impedance for most components have been ignored. Rotating machines
have been replaced with a voltage source behind their internal reactance.
Capacitive effects between lines and to ground are ignored as well.

Figure out the base values (Sbase, Vbase, Zbase) in the power system.
