Introduction
Concrete creation is normally expected to present trouble free carrier all
through its intended layout lifestyles. But, these expectancies aren't
realized in many constructions due to structural deficiency, fabric
deterioration, unanticipated over loadings or bodily damage. Untimely
material deterioration can stand up from some of reasons, the most
common being while the construction specifications are violated or while
the ability is uncovered to harsher carrier surroundings than the ones
anticipated throughout the making plans and design levels. Bodily damage
can also arise from fire, explosion – as well as from restraints, both internal
and outside, in opposition to structural motion. Except in extreme cases,
maximum of the structures require healing to fulfil its purposeful
necessities by way of suitable repair strategies.
Due to the fact 1950s, the development interest in India has been
growing geometrically without matching boom inside the
availability of excellent inputs, in terms of materials and skilled
workmen. The gap among the great deliberate and the first-class
achieved keeps to emerge as wider. The factors contributing to
damages/distresses in buildings have, for this reason, ended up
intrinsic right from the construction degree. due to lack of
information of their importance by the sector engineers.
Widespread dice check consequences are taken as a degree of
excellent in the creation. Whereas the elements such as technique of
placing, compaction and curing of concrete, that have significant
affect at the satisfactory performed in the hardened concrete, are
given scant interest.
Advantages of FRP
There have been a few imperative advances in materials and procedures
for basic recovery, including another class of auxiliary materials, for
example, fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP). One such strategy for
fortifying includes including outside fortification as sheets made of FRP.
Propelled materials offer the creator another blend of properties not
accessible from different materials and powerful restoration
frameworks. Reinforcing basic components utilizing FRP empowers the
fashioner to specifically expand their malleability, flexure, and shear
limit in light of the expanding seismic and administration load requests.
For segments, wrapping with FRP can altogether enhance the quality
and pliability.
A strong point of interest of utilizing FRP as another outer
restriction to steel is the high quality to weight proportion
correlations. Keeping in mind the end goal to accomplish a
proportionate containment, FRP plates are up to 20% less thick
than steel plates and are in any event twice as solid, if not more.
Production of cutting edge composites is, then, conceivable in
diminished segments and permits composite plates to be
formed nearby. The lower thickness permits simpler position of
imprisonment in application. Outline of outside containment to
a structure ought to be made with moderate conformity to the
essential structures dead weight load.
Disadvantages of FRP
With the above focal points FRP does likewise have some detriments as
takes after: The primary burden of remotely reinforcing structures
with fiber composite materials is the danger of flame, vandalism or
inadvertent harm, unless the fortifying is secured. As FRP materials
are lightweight they tend to postures streamlined unsteadiness.
Retrofitting utilizing fiber composites are more excessive than
customary systems. Experience of the long haul sturdiness of fiber
composites is not yet accessible. This might be a hindrance for
structures for which a long plan life is required yet can be overcome
by suitable checking. This system needs exceptionally prepared pros.
More over yonder is absence of gauges and plan guides.
Objectives
The objective of present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the use
of FRP laminates as external reinforcement to reinforced concrete
frames with Ring Beam section in an Intze Tank subjected to stress
and Deformation. The following FRP configurations are examined:-
1. First analysis is going to be done on unreinforced sections of Intze
tank ring beam which is compared to reinforced sections with FRP
laminates.
2. Wrapping is done in different patterns at Intze tank ring beam.
3. After the analysis of above two researcher supposed to use different
type of FRP laminates as well.
4. Researcher will validate the retrofitting method by using FRP
laminates in software package ANSYS 14.5.
5. Researcher will also give the best FRP laminate properties for
reduction in stress and deformation for the different loading
conditions as per given objective 2 and objective 3.

CONCLUSION
The analytical concrete Beam Section model was generated using FEM
software program ANSYS. In ANSYS software concrete Beam Section
this is subjected to loading through vertical loading which is 600KN.
Following conclusions can be drawn from current study:
1. There is 34% reduction in deformation for length of 14000mm
CFRP laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete.
2. There is 36.91% reduction in stresses for length of 14000mm
CFRP laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete.
3. There is 22.9% reduction in deformation for length of
14000mm GFRP laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete.
4. There is 32.05% reduction in stresses for length of 14000mm
GFRP laminate as compare to Without FRP concrete.
5. CFRP provided more strength to the structure Beam and
effective than GFRP reinforced and Without FRP concrete
material in reduction of deformation and stresses.
Based on results obtained from the present investigation, the following
conclusions can be made on the behaviour of beam section reinforced by
different FRP materials:

• Strength of concrete can be increased by using FRP reinforced beam

system.

• A load deflection response was measured when FRP reinforcement was

provided. The stiffer response was observed at a relatively more
reduction in deflection is observed with CFRP sheet as compare to GFRP
and Without FRP concrete.

• A load and stress response was measured when FRP reinforcement was
provided and a response was observed that, relatively more reduction in
stress is also considered in CFRP sheet as compare to GFRP and Without
FRP concrete.
FUTURE SCOPE OF WORK
Experimental study on concrete beam system can be
performed on different FRP materials with different values
of E and µ then that used in the present analysis.

Present analysis is done for a beam section of 1000mm x

600mm. The investigation can be further extended for
different beam section and end condition.
