This document outlines a project to simulate a turbocharger turbine using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). A team of 4 students will 3D model and simulate a turbocharger based on real engine specifications under the guidance of Dr. VSM. The objectives are to study temperature, pressure gradients, and performance for different fuel types. The working methodology includes selecting the project, learning CFD, surveying literature, acquiring specifications, modeling geometry, meshing, setup, post-processing, and drawing inferences. Progress so far includes selecting the project title and objectives, with literature survey currently in progress. The learning outcomes are to gain experience with CFD, modern tools, and industry practices.
