Ayushi Agarwal: Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of machines to simulate human intelligence through learning, reasoning, and self-correction. The document discusses how AI works by simulating human processes of learning, thinking, deciding, and responding. It provides examples of AI applications like machine learning, machine vision, natural language processing, and pattern recognition. The goal of AI is to create expert systems that can implement intelligence and human behavior in machines with a low error rate.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Ayushi Agarwal
INTRODUCTION

● Part of CS.
● Intelligent like Human.
● Designed in a way to think like Humans.
● Take Decisions like Human beings.
● Ease our work.
WHAT IS AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of a machine or a

computer program to think and learn.

The concept of AI is based on the idea of building machines

capable of thinking, acting, and learning like humans.
OVERVIEW

● Simulation based on human intelligence.

● Develop machine in a way, so that they think and work like
humans.
● Includes three processes:
○ Learning: Insert information and set of rules.
○ Reasoning: Follow rules and make conclusion.
○ Self Correction:gives result by correcting it.
● Applications:
○ Expert Systems
○ Speech Recognition
○ Machine Vision
○ Gaming
○ Language Processing
○ Handwriting Recognition
○ Intelligent Robots
HOW DOES IT WORKS?

● Humans:
○ Learn-process-think-decide-respond
● Ranging from pattern recognition to artificial life
○ Evolutionary computation and planning
BACKGROUND

● John McCarthy
● American Computer Scientist
● 1956
● The Dartmouth Conference
● Like tree
● Big data technology(tb):store and analyse
● Speed, size, variety of data
HOW MUCH DOES IT IMPORTANT?

● AI systems have the ability to execute tasks naturally.

● Associated with human intelligence:
○ Speech recognition
○ Decision-making
○ Visual perception
○ Translating languages
WHY AI?

● Easy to recognise pattern from raw data.

● Mistakes made by machine.
● Curiosity to learn more.
● Can machine think like humans?
● Increase speed of execution.
● Highly repetitive task.
● Give service to customers.
● Reduce number of labour cost.
GOAL OF AI

● Create Expert System

● Implement
○ Intelligence
○ Human behaviour in Machines
● Low error rate : coded properly
EXAMPLES OF AI

● Automation (robotics):high volume, repeatable task

● Machine Learning
○ Supervised learning: labeled data
○ Unsupervised learning: sorting based on similarity and differences
○ Reinforced learning: gives feedback
● Machine Vision
○ A-D-A
○ Visual eyes
○ Through the walls
● Natural language processing
○ Ex:spam detection
● Pattern recognition:
○ Robotics
○ Data analysis
APPLICATIONS OF AI

● Healthcare
● Business
● Education
● Finance
● Law
● Manufacturing
● etc..
CONCLUSION

● Becoming slave.
● Man depends for basic needs.
● Machine dependent.
● Increases thinking ability.
● Don’t obey.
● In every field.
● Do follow but in control
