The State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) was constituted by the government of India in all states to promote learning.  SIET was constituted by government of India in all
states for promoting the level of learning.

 It is responsible for the planning, research, production


and evaluation of educational schemes to generate
teaching technologies in modern context.

 Play a catalytic role in supporting educational


movement specially primary education.

 Area of operation covers preparation of video, audio


programmes for children of 5-17 years of age.
GOALS
 Production of educational programmes for telecast or
broadcast through TV/ radio.
 Designing of teaching aids.
 Imparting training to teachers and production personnel.
 Conduct evaluation and research of new media
educational materials.
 Assist schools to set up infrastructure.
 Implement CD library project in all 140 constituencies of
Kerala and hence declare it as 100% e-learning state.
 Develop learning materials for blind students.
ACTIVITIES
 Produce Educational T.V. and radio programs in
regional language for school children of 5-14 age.
 Lending video and audio studios for commercial
production for income generation.
 Conversion of video programs into CDs and supply to
schools.
 Monitoring, utilization of eTV and eR transmission.
 Evaluation and research on material produced by the
institute.
 Conduct of workshops and training programs for
persons involved in media material.
