Class Dojo Parent Letter

ClassDojo is a website that allows teachers to give students feedback on their behaviors in class. Students receive positive points for good behaviors like following directions, and negative points for bad behaviors. Students can earn rewards each week based on how many points they accumulate. The teacher can also message with parents on the app to update them on their child's academic progress and behavior. Parents need to sign up to receive weekly reports and see their child's points and the class activities.

What is ClassDojo?

ClassDojo is a website that allows teachers to

give students immediate feedback on their
behaviors, positive and negative.

ClassDojo will be used in our classroom this

year. Students are awarded a positive point
when they display positive behaviors such as
following directions, showing good
sportsmanship, being on task,ect. Students
receive a negative point if they are displaying
behaviors such as not following directions,
disrupting class or being disrespectful.

Your child will have the chance to celebrate positive behavior throughout the week by
earning rewards. Their points will roll over each day. Points will reset each Friday at the end
of the day. Your child will be able to choose rewards based upon their number of points
throughout the week. Rewards will be as follows:
15 points=reward
30 points=reward
45 points=reward
60+ points-reward
*Please note: There is not a set number of points students should have each day or week. This
will vary with how many points I am rewarding throughout the day. It is important for your
child to maintain positive behaviors so they are not losing points for negative behaviors.

We will also be able to message one another regarding your child’s academics or behavior.
My hope is that this will bring you and me closer together, and help you better understand
the progress of your student on a week to week basis. Please note: each point given or
taken will outline the specific behavior for your reference automatically. I will also only be
able to respond to parent messages before or after school. M-F 6:30-7:30 am/2:30-3:30 pm.
Times may vary based upon meetings or duty obligations.

You will receive an email with how to sign up for this resource. By signing up, you will be able
to follow your child’s progress throughout the day and receive weekly reports. You will also
be able to see our “Class Story” where I will post information/photos about what we are
doing in class.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
