Unmanned Petrol Bunk System Using Rfid Technology

This document proposes an unmanned petrol bunk system using RFID technology. It would allow customers to purchase petrol without human interaction by using a smart card containing their payment and identity information. When the card is scanned at the pump, the RFID module would read the data and authorize the purchase if it matches the information stored in the microcontroller's memory. This automation could increase efficiency and security at petrol stations while reducing costs. The system would use an AT89S52 microcontroller, RFID reader, smart cards, and other basic electronic components to enable contactless payments and fueling.

ABSTRACT:

 Today almost all petrol pumps have a micro controller to control the electrical
pump, drive the display, measure the flow & accordingly turn OFF the
electrical pump. But still a person is required to collect the money .our project
is to designed to eliminate this human interaction so that there is no need of
workers to fill the petrol; in general, a smart card is an integrated circuit card
with memory capable of making decisions. The smart card contains an AT89C51
microcontroller, a voltage regulator, serial cable connections, and LED which
glows whenever a card is inserted into the reader and also it glows whenever it
issues any command this smart card reader is interfaced with the
microcontroller through serial interface.
Block diagram:
Project methodology:

 The RFID module is interfaced with the microcontroller and when the
card is inserted into the reader, it reads the data in the card. If the
data in the card is matched with the data stored in the program
memory, then it displays authourised message on the LCD.
Tools required:
 Software requirements:
o Keil
o Proteus
o Uc flash
o Embedded c
o Program isp
 Hardware requirements:
o Micro controller :AT89S52
o Crystal : 11.0592 MHZ
o LED : 4mm Red LED
o Max232
o Smart card reader
Applications:
 Access Control: RFID Readers placed at entrances that require a
person to pass their proximity card (RF tag) to be "read' before
the access can be made.
 Payment Systems: RFID tags used to carry payment information.
RFIDs are particular suited to electronic Toll collection systems.
 Process Efficiency : RFID systems reduce data entry and
transcription errors with the use of a reader. Scanning with a
reader enables time reduction in processes. These improvements
allow for increased efficiency and a smoother process.
Feasibility:

 RFID tags allow for a more efficient process which could lead to reduced cost
and prevent redundancy
Benefits:

o 1. Enhances safety and security

o 2. Portability
o 3. Reliability
o 4. Reconfigurable and reusable
