LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

DEFINITION
 Learning is variables.

 Comes from the French word “Environ” which


means “Surroundings”.

 Consists of the Physical Environment and


Psychological atmosphere.

 Teaching and learning takes place. Consists of the


classroom needed in planning and implementing all
teaching and learning activities.
Physical Environment

It includes the:

Physical condition of the classroom


The arrangement of furniture
Seating arrangement
Physical Condition of the Environment

It must be…
 clean and orderly set-up

 Free from noise

 Natural light and flowing fresh air

 Doors and windows could opened and closed easily

and less noise


 Light Fixtures and ventilations are located where it

is needed.

It should be…
 The furniture, like the table it needs to be in front of the
classroom.

 The students chair should be facing on the board.

 Display shelves should be located at the sides.

 Bulletin Boards must be attached on the walls.

favorable school climate includes:

 SAFETY (e.g physical safety; social-emotional


safety)
 RELATIONSHIPS (e.g student & teacher
relationship, respect for diversity)

 Which encourages people to be active


 Which promotes and facilitates the individual’s
discovery of the personal meaning of idea
 Which emphasizes the uniquely personal and

 In which difference is good and desirable
 Which consistently recognizes people’s right to make
mistakes
 Which tolerates ambiguity

 Which encourages openness of self rather than


concealment of self
 In which people are encouraged to trust in themselves
as well as in external sources
 In which people feel they are respected
 In which people feel they are accepted
 Which permits confrontation
 A conducive learning environment is necessary in the full
development of the Cognitive and appetitive faculties
of the learner
