Three Phase Semi Controlled Rectifier

The document describes a three-phase half/semi-controlled rectifier circuit. It contains diagrams of the fully controlled and semi-controlled rectifier circuits and waveforms for different firing angles. Equations are provided for the output voltage, source current, displacement power factor, and input power factor in terms of the firing angle. Key observations are that the output has a 120 degree periodicity, power always flows from AC to DC due to the diode directionality, and the rectifier is only useful for motoring applications.

Observations:
• Output voltage has a periodicity of 120 deg.
• For any value of firing angle(α) output voltage, current and power are
always positive due to unidirectional property of devices.

• The direction of power flow is always from A.C. Source to D.C. Load
• Hence, it is only useful for motoring applications.
