 A STUDY OF CUSTOMER PREFERENCE TOWARDS PRODUCT

AND SERVICES OF AXIS BANK WITH RESPECT TO


PIMPALGAON BRANCH.
 PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:-
 To measure Consumer Preference About Various
Products And Services of Axis bank Pimpalgaon.
 To Study Customer Satisfaction with the services
provided by Axis bank.
 To Find customers expectations from Axis bank.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:-
 To study Products And Services of Axis Bank.
 To study Competitors Of Axis Bank Pimpalgaon.
Private Banks

 All the banks in India were earlier private banks.

Private banks founded in the pre-independence era to cater to the banking needs of the
people.

 After nationalization of banks in 1969 public sector banks came to occupy dominant role
in the banking structure.

 Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC) was amongst the first to
receive an In principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a bank
in the private sector.

 Private Banks have played a major role in the development of Indian banking industry.
• Axis Bank is the third largest private sector bank in India.

• The Bank offers of financial services to customer segments covering Large


and Mid-Corporates, Agriculture and Retail Businesses.

• Axis Bank is one of the first new generation private sector banks to
have begun operations in 1994.

• The Bank was promoted in 1993, jointly by Specified Undertaking of Unit


Trust of India (SUUTI) (then known as Unit Trust of India), Life Insurance
Corporation of India (LIC), General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC),
National Insurance Company Ltd.
 Evaluation:
 UTI was established in 1964 by an Act of parliament; neither did the
government of India it on nor contributes any capital.

 The RBI was ask to contribute one-half of its initial capital of Rs 5


crore.

 The State Bank of India and the Life Insurance Corporation


contributed 15 % of the capital each, and the interest was contributed
by schedule commercial banks which were not nationalized.

 Later on in 2002 the UTI was renamed to Axis Bank.

 UTI contributing RS, 100 crore


 LIC – RS, 7.5 crore

1. Manish Mittal and Arunna Dhademade (2005)
 they found that higher profitability.

 that public sector banks are less profitable than private sector banks.

 Foreign banks top the list in terms of net profitability.

 Private sector banks earn higher non-interest income than public sector banks,

 Because these banks offer more and more fee based services to business houses or
corporate sector.
2. Vasant Desai (2007):
 The Reserve Bank of India plays a very vital role.
 It is known as the banker’s bank.
 The Reserve Bank of India is the head of all banks.
 All the money formulations of commercial banks are done under the Reserve
Bank of India.
 The RBI performs all the typical functions of a good central bank as it is involved
in planning the economy of the country.
 The main function is that the RBI should control their credit. It is mandatory for
the Bank to maintain the external value of the rupee.
 Major function is that it should also control the currency.
3. Dangwal and kapoor (2010)
 also undertook the study on financial performance of nationalized banks in India
and assessed the growth index value of various parameters through overall
profitability indices.
 They found that out of 19 banks, four banks had excellent performance, five
banks had good performance and six banks had poor performance.
 Thus the performance of nationalized banks differ widely
