Presentation and Visualizations:

 A cloud-based presentation software based on


a software as a service model.
 The product employs a zooming user
interface (ZUI), which allows users to zoom in and
out of their presentation media, and allows users
to display and navigate through information
within a 2.5D or parallax 3D space on the Z-axis.
 Established in April 2009 by co-founders Adam
Somlai-Fischer, Peter Halacsy and Peter Arvai
Presentation and Visualizations:

 Web-based online office suite containing word


processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, note-
taking, wikis, web conferencing, customer relationship
management (CRM),
 developed by ZOHO Corporation (formerly AdventNet
Inc.), a California-based company.
 It was launched in 2005 with a web-based word processor.
Additional products such as spreadsheets and
presentations, were incorporated later into Zoho. Zoho
applications are distributed as software as a
service (SaaS).
Presentation and Visualizations:
 LinkedIn SlideShare is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting
service.
 Users can upload files privately or publicly in the
following file
formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or OpenDocument pres
entations.
 Slide decks can then be viewed on the site itself, on hand
held devices or embedded on other sites.
 Launched on October 4, 2006.
 It was acquired by LinkedIn in 2012.
 SlideShare also provides users the ability to rate, comment on, and share
the uploaded content.
Cloud Computing :
 formerly Google Docs, is a file storage and synchronization
service created by Google.
 It allows users to store files in the cloud, share files,
and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with
collaborators.
 Google Drive encompasses Google Docs, Sheets, and
Slides, an office suite that permits collaborative editing of
documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, forms,
and more.
 Launched on April 24, 2012 and had 240 million monthly
active users by October 2014.
 Google said in September 2015 that they had over 1
million individual or organizational paid users of Google
Drive, and that they had made new security and privacy
additions.
Cloud Computing :
 A cross-platform, freemium app designed for note taking, organizing,
and archiving.
 Developed by the Evernote Corporation, Redwood City, California.
 The app allows users to create a "note" which can be a piece of
formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a
voice memo, or a handwritten "ink" note. Notes can also have file
attachments.
 Evernote supports a number of operating system platforms
(including OS X, iOS, Chrome OS, Android, Microsoft Windows,
Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10, and webOS) and also offers
online synchronization and backup services.
 Evernote is available in a paid version or a more restricted free
version. Use of the online service is free up to a certain monthly
usage limit, with additional monthly use reserved for Plus subscribers,
and unlimited monthly use for Premium customers.
Cloud Computing :
 is a file hosting service operated by American company
Dropbox, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California, that
offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud,
and client software.
 Allows users to create a special folder on their computers,
which Dropbox then synchronizes so that it appears to be the
same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which
device is used to view it.
 Founded in 2007, by MIT students Drew Houston and Arash
Ferdowsi, as a startup company
 Provides client software for the OS systems Linux, OS X, and
Windows NT; for the mobile systems Android, BlackBerry
OS, iOS, and Windows Phone; and for web browsers; as well as
unofficial ports to MeeGo and Symbian.
Social Media :
 Twitter (/ˈtwɪtər/) is an online social networking service
that enables users to send and read short 140-character
messages called "tweets".
 Registered users can read and post tweets, but those who
are unregistered can only read them. Users access Twitter
through the website interface, SMS or mobile device app.
 Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has more than
25 offices around the world.
 Created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz
Stone, and Noah Glass and launched in July 2006.
 2012, more than 100 million users posting 340 million tweets a day
in 2012 The service also handled 1.6 billion search queries per day
 2013, it was one of the ten most-visited websites and has been
described as "the SMS of the Internet".
 As of March 2016, Twitter has more than 310 million monthly
active users.
Social Media :

 Launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark
Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard
College students and roommates, Eduardo
Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz,

 Developed year 2007 in New York City.
Social Media
 Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-
sharing, and social networking service that enables its
users to take pictures and videos, and share them either
publicly or privately on the app, as well as through a
variety of other social networking platforms, such as
Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr.
 Originally, a distinctive feature was that it confined
photos to a square shape.
 Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger,
and launched in October 2010 as a free mobile app. The
service rapidly gained popularity, with over 100 million
active users as of April 2012 and over 300 million as of
December 2014. Instagram is distributed through the
Apple App Store and Google Play.
Social Media
 Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile
application created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and
Reggie Brown when they were students at Stanford
University. The company headquarters are located in
Venice, California
 The prototype for Snapchat was started by Brown and
Spiegel as a project for one of Spiegel's classes at
Stanford, where Spiegel was a product design major.
Beginning under the name "Picaboo", the idea was for
users to communicate using images that were explicitly
short-lived.
Web Page Creation :
 Wix.com is a cloud-based web development platform
that allows users to create HTML5 web sites
and mobile sites through the use of their online drag
and drop tools.
 Users may add functionalities such as social plug-ins, e-
commerce, contact forms, e-mail marketing, and
community forums to their web sites using a variety of
Wix-developed and third-party applications
 Developed in 2006 in Israel.

builder.
 The company is headquartered in San Francisco.
 Founded by chief executive officer (CEO) David

 The startup competes
with Wix.com, Webs, WordPress.com,
Squarespace.com, Jimdo, Yola, SnapPages, and other web-
hosting and creation websites.
File Management :

 A web application to convert files.


 It was created by brothers Mike and Chris Whyley in England.
 It allows user to convert files without downloading
a software tool, and supports over 1,000 different conversion
types.
 Users can type in a URL or upload one or more files (if they are
all of the same format) from their computer, Zamzar then
converts the file(s) to another user-specified format.
 For example, from an Adobe PDF file to a Microsoft Word
document – users receive an email with a URL from where they
can download the converted file. It is also possible to send files
for conversion by emailing them to Zamzar.
File Management :
 convert Microsoft Word documents to Adobe's Portable
Document Format (PDF), using freely available tools on
Windows platforms.
 PDF is a very commonly used format across the Internet.
 The Adobe Acrobat reader is freely available on a variety
of platforms, meaning that PDF documents can be viewed
in exactly the same way across all these platforms. It is
replacing Postscript as the default document format on
the Internet.
 By contrast, Microsoft Word documents can only be
viewed on platforms that support Microsoft Word.
Mapping :

 A desktop web mapping service developed by Google.


 It offers satellite imagery, street maps, 360° panoramic views
of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions (Google
Traffic), and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bicycle
or public transportation.
 Google Maps began as a C++ desktop program designed
by Lars and Jens Eilstrup Rasmussen at Where 2 Technologies.
 In October 2004, the company was acquired by Google, which
converted it into a web application.
 Google Map Maker allows users to collaboratively expand and
update the service's mapping worldwide.
Mapping : Wikimapia

 A privately owned open-content collaborative


mapping project, that utilizes an interactive "clickable" web
map with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the
aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the
world.
 Created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev on May
2006, since then it has become a popular mapping website.
 Although the project's name is reminiscent to that
of Wikipedia and that the creators share the "wiki"
philosophy,it is not a part of the non-profit Wikimedia
Foundation family of wikis.
