INTRODUCTION

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, first published in 1989, was written
by Stephen R. Covey is a self-improvement book. It is written on Covey's
belief that the way we see the world is entirely based on our own perceptions.
In order to change a given situation, we must change ourselves, and in order to
change ourselves, we must be able to change our perceptions.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Stephen Richard covey was an American educator , author , businessmen and keynote speaker he
was born on 24th October 1932 at salt lake city ,united states. His one of the famous quote was “ If
we keep doing what we are doing ,we are going to keep getting what we are getting”.
1. BE PROACTIVE
• TWO TYPES OF PEOPLES ARE THERE- PROACTIVE AND REACTIVE .
• REACTIVE PEOPLE BLAMES OTHERS FOR LOSSES AND PROBLEMS IN THEIR
LIFE.
• PROACTIVE PEOPLE BELIEVES THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR LIFE.
• STEPHEN R. COVEY’S CIRCLE OF CONCERN-
1. REACTIVE PEOPLE-OUTSIDE TO INSIDE.
2. PROACTIVE PEOPLE- INSIDE TO OUTSDE.
2. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

• WE NEED TO BUILD BLUEPRINT FOR BETTER LIFE.


• STEPHEN R. COVEY DESCRIBE IT AS “MISSION STATEMENT”.
• WE SHOULD ASK OURSELF ‘WHAT KIND OF PERSON WE ARE ?’ .
• A NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE PERSON.
3. PUT FIRST THING FIRST

• STEPHEN R. COVEY HAS DIVIDED OUR WORK INTO FOUR QUARDRANTS-


1. URGENT & IMPORTANT
2. NOT URGENT , IMPORTANT
3. URGENT , NOT IMPORTANT
4. NOT URGENT, NOT IMPORTANT
4. THINK WIN-WIN

• WE SHOULD ALWAYS LOOK WHAT OTHER WANTS AND WHAT WE WANTS.


• THIS CREATES BALANCE AND WIN-WIN SITUATION.
• EVERY SITUATION CAN’T BE WIN-WIN SITUATION.
• IF WE CAN MAKE A SITUATION A WIN-WIN SITUATION IT’S THE BEST
SITUATION.
5. SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND
THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD

• MISS COMMUNICATION IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM.


• DON’T WANT TO LISTEN JUST SPEAK.
• WE ARGUE TO PROVE OURSELF RIGHT.
• SHOULD LISTEN SLIENTLY THEN REPLY.
6. SYNERGIZE

• TWO HEAD ARE BETTER THAN ONE.


• PRODUCE BETTER RESULT IN TEAM THEN INDIVIDUALLY.
• DISCOVER THING JOINTLY.
• WHOLE IS BETTER THAN THE SUM OF PART (1+1=3).
7. SHARPEN THE SAW

• SHOULD UTILIZE OUR TIME TO IMPROVE IN THESE AREAS-


1. PHYSICAL
2. MENTAL
3. SOCIAL /EMOTIONAL
4. SPRITUAL
• IT MAKES OTHER HABITS POSSIBLE BY IMPROVING OUR GREATEST ASSET.
