HELIX

Helix takes DNA samples from customers, sequences the DNA at their lab, and stores the customer's DNA information while providing them a copy. As technology has been integrated into commercial use, more people have used direct-to-consumer DNA testing out of curiosity or for medical reasons. However, personalized genetic services could pose ethical issues like confidential data breaches, unreliable medical diagnoses, and potential for discrimination. It is important to consider the moral and ethical implications of new technologies to prevent harm and unethical practices. Studying science, technology, and society can help address problems and improve life through solutions.
