 He graduated at Central Luzon State University (Degree of
Elementary Education)
 He awarded as Artist of the Year.
 He has no Formal Education in painting
 His signature subject is the “Legend of Minggan”.
 Hand painting performances done within 5 to 10 minutes in a canvass
of 432 square inches taking the primary colors which is Red, Yellow,
and Blue.

Indigenouism ; A form of art that promotes environmental protection by
using indigenous materials. He also used the vegetables, fruits,
charcoal and soy sauce.
 In 1978, Amangpintor won a children’s contest sponsored
by DZRH radio for his depiction of Zimatar and Tagani, widely popular
fantasy folk heroes whose adventures were serialized on air at that
time.
 In 1992, Amangpintor recognized by Central Luzon State
University (CLSU) through College of Arts and Sciences as first student
artist and received Cultural Award during graduation in 1993.
 In 1998, aside from a chapter founder of Artist Club in the Philippines,
Amangpintor is one of the founders of Samahang Makasining (Artist
Club), Inc. and has been seven years Board Chairman of it in National
Level, a tourism Adviser of Pantabangan local Government Unit, Visual
Arts Chairman of Association of Nueva Ecija Artist group project of
Provincial Governor's Office. Recently Amangpintor founded
Makasining Pinas (a subsidiary group of the Samakang Makasining
(Artist Club), Inc) in the different Municipalities and Provinces in the
Philippines.
 In 2007, Amangpintor awarded and recognized by his
home town as Pantabangan Folk Painter.
 In 2008, Amangpintor also popularized actual hand/finger
painting performances and he called
it PintaOke or PintAwit(Filipino term).
 In 2009, Amangpintor recognized by the National
Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as first
Filipino hair and blood painter and feature him on NBN TV4
episode title Sining Gising.
 In 2010, Amangpintor also received Art and Culture
"Gintong Butil" award from CLSU Alumni Association, Inc.
in celebration of annual alumni homecoming.

Definition of Terms

 Mythology- A collection of myths, especially one belonging to a


particular religious or cultural tradition.
 Mythicalism- Something that can be real in your mind, but
isn't exactly true but it could be.
 Indigenouism- Refers to the work of art by a local artist who
uses raw materials available immediately in the area. It is a
movement by artists and their works of art using Indigenous
Materials for their Masterpieces.
 Legend of Minggan- In Minggan's folklore [1] of the Helping People
presented by Elito Circa or Amangpintor, Minggan is a Giant creature living in
the Sierra Madre mountains. She was an avid lover of Mariang Sinukuan a
kindhearted, beautiful and entertaining figure in the Lord's creations.
