(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) : Done By: Hasya Priya Prajjwala K.Vigneshwari Ankita.S.K

UAVs or drones come in many sizes and shapes, from small micro-UAVs to large military hunter-killer drones. They generally have 4 motors, propellers, a transmitter, receiver, battery, and connecting wires. The transmitter sends signals to the receiver on the drone, which controls the speed of each motor via an ESC. This allows the drone to fly autonomously or be remotely controlled. Drones have advantages like not needing a pilot, entering dangerous areas, and completing missions autonomously, but also disadvantages like short battery life, hackability, and difficulty maintaining height. They have applications in aerial photography, search and rescue, agriculture, shipping, mapping, surveillance, and internet access.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
Essentially, a drone is a flying robot that can be remotely
controlled or can fly autonomously through software-
controlled flight plans in their embedded systems working
in conjunction with onboard sensors and GPS.

The UAV which expands to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is the

technological name of ‘DRONE’.

The drone has two parts: the control system and the UAV
itself.
TYPES
 Drone comes in wide variety of sizes, shapes and
functions.
 Drones generally are of two types
 MQ-9 reaper, a hunter killer surveillance UAV.
They are usually developed for military and
special operation.
 DJI Phantom UAV for commercial and
recreational areal photography.
TYPES

DJI Phantom MQ-9 Reaper

Some other types of drones are
as following:

• Micro-UAV
• Biomimetic-UAV
• Blimps and Balloons
MATERIALS USED FOR THE DRONE THAT WE HAVE
CREATED:

1) 6V MOTORS – 4
2) FINGER SIZE PROPELLERS – 4
3) TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER (paired)
4) CONNECTING WIRES
5) BATTERY – 3.6V LITHIUM
THE WORKING PRINCIPLE:
• Quadcopter is a device with an
intense mixture of electronics,
mechanical and mainly on the
principle of aviation.
• It has 4 motors whose speed of
rotation and direction of rotation
Changes according to the user’s
desire
• The rotation of the motor changes
as per the transmitted signal sent
from the four channel transmitter.
• The signals from microcontroller
goes to ESC which in turns
controls the speed of the motor
THE ADVANTAGES OF A UAV:
 Doesn’t require a qualified pilot.
 Can enter any environment.
 Can stay in air up to 20 minutes.
 Can be programmed to complete the mission
autonomously.
 Fixed wings can fly at a high altitude
THE DISADVANTAGES OF A UAV:
 Short life battery
 Hackable
 It is tough to maintain same height
 Expensive
DRONE USAGE AND APPLICATIONS IN INDIA.
APPLICATIONS OF UAV/ DRONE:

 Aerial Photography
 Search and rescue operation (military
applications)
 In the field of agriculture
 Shipping and delivery
 3D mapping and navigation
 Safety surveillance
 Wireless internet access
