state with highest FDI if the POSCO project gets
clearance
An anti-POSCO movement was led by Abhay Sahoo to
protest against the project
Another political player in this conflict was the South
Korean government where the president Park Geun-
Hye while on her visit to India in 2014 lent her voice
to the efforts

using industry leading processing system
There have been developments in low carbon
technology for effective recovery of heat wasted in
different iron and steel making processes

The plant would require a lot of water supply which
would affect the water consumption of local residents
Forest and habitat destruction around the mining area
will be massive
The natural resources are depleted at a faster rate
which in turn disturbs the balance in ecology

On the 12th October 2008 Abhay Sahoo leader of PPSS
was arrested and charged with 25 criminal cases
Absence of laws on judicious use of natural resources
