Batch 4

1. This document describes an elbow mechanism that can transmit power between two shafts at any angle from 0 to 180 degrees using sliding links. 2. The rotational motion of the input shaft is converted to sliding motion of the links via revolute pairs with the hub, which is then converted back to rotational motion at the output shaft. 3. The mechanism provides a low-cost way to vary the transmission angle without needing to manufacture gears and can transmit power at constant 1:1 speed ratio for applications like drilling and vehicle transmissions.

BATCH NO - 04

Abstract
•Angular power transmission using
elbow mechanism from input to
output shafts by means of sliding
links that form revolute pair with
the hub.
•Links bent at required angle slide
inside the holes in the hub.
•It can transmit at any angle 0 to
180.
 In which, we can transmit power up to
180 deg
 Slider and kinetic chain principle
 It is a link mechanism
 Transmits the power between two shafts
whose axes are at 180 degree through
bent links.
 Three links slide relatively according to
the motion given to input shaft.
 Due to this, the rotational motion of input
shaft is converted into sliding motion of
links which is then converted to
rotational motion of the output shaft.

mechanism for the transmission of power
 The power transmits from input shaft to
output shaft with an angular change

This Mechanism is capable of transmitting
power at any angle without any gear
being manufactured
 It can be vary speed with regulator
 Stand in steel
 Slider in steel
 Shaft
 Bearings
 Nut and bolt
 Easy to manufacture
 Low cost of manufacture
 Power could be transmitted to any
desired angle upto 180 degree
 Simpler cooling system
 It does not work at very low starting
torque
 Speed ratio is always constant (1:1 ratio)
 Angular drilling
 Used in vehicles
 Multi spindle drilling (Gang drilling)
 Lubrication pump
 The model works correctly as per the
design.
 With the help of the system, we can
efficiently reduce the cost in power
transmission.
 Further advancement in this technology
can be made.
 Torque bearing capacity can be
improved.
 Flexible bent links can be used.
 Has a bright future in automation and
robotics.
 Can be used in automobile industry in
near future.
