The arts of Thailand display features the
museum’s finest thai buddhist sculptures
in bronze and stone spanning the period
from the 7th to the 19th centuries.

much more.
 Often traditionally made from oiled rice
papers on a bamboo frame. They may
also be constructed from other
lightweight papers.
 The thai name is khom loi.
 Flying lanterns are used during the year
for festivals, the most popular being the
loy krathong festival.
 This festival is held on the night of the 12th
full moon, usually in November, with
Chang Mai believed to have the
brightest and most spectacular
celebrations.
