Writing the Ending of the News
The ending is often what the readers
remember most about the story. It is so
important that the news writers should know
how to end their stories before they start
writing them.
Many good writers save a good morsel
for the end, perhaps their second best quote.
The most common type of ending is the
“quote ending.” Writers look for a quote that
best sums up the news story.

China vows to help Philippines in war on drugs
China supports Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and
his government's anti-drug efforts, a Chinese Foreign Ministry
spokesperson said on Wednesday, adding that the two countries'
law enforcement cooperation against drug smuggling has made
major progress.
Hua Chunying, Foreign Ministry spokesperson, made the
remarks at a routine briefing in response to a question related to a
recent cross-border drug trafficking case solved jointly by the two
sides, with 12 suspects arrested and over 600 kilograms of
methamphetamine seized.
"[In this case,] the law enforcement departments from
China and the Philippines conducted close cooperation and jointly
cracked down on the case, marking a major achievement of their
anti-drug law enforcement cooperation," said Hua.
China wants further cooperation with the Philippines in
such fields as anti-drug information sharing, technical equipment,
handling cases together, and drug rehabilitation programs, Hua
said.

“They were identified, nakatira sa Metro Manila, we will monitor
them closely”, pahayag ni dela Rosa.
kaguluhan.
“Kailangan bantayan natin sila, baka nandiyan yung mga
nagsisitakas dun (Marawi City)”, anang PNP Chief.
