Azure ML Overview

The United States Postal Service processed over 150 billion pieces of mail in 2013, far too much to sort efficiently by hand. In 1997, only 10% of hand-addressed mail was sorted automatically by computers, but the challenge was interpreting endless variations in human handwriting. By providing feedback to computers, the Postal Service trained machines to accurately read handwriting, and today over 98% of all mail is processed automatically with the help of machine learning.
