INTRODUCTION
Android is categorised as an Open source
platform. It is owned by Open Handset
Alliance which is a consortium of 84 firms
and also has created Google. The aim behind
the development of android is to accelerate
innovation and technology in mobile
phones. The result of which it brings in a
vast variety of mobile innovation.
HISTORY OF ANDROID

The foundation of android took place in Plato Alto


California during October in 2003 by Nick Sears, Andy
Rubin, Rich Miner and Chris White. The very first motif
of the company was the development of software or an
operating system that could work efficiently with the
digital gadgets such as cameras
FEATURES OF ANDROID

Android is an open source platform that is known for its vast


variety of features. These features make android different
from any of the other operating system that is present in the

BMI CALCULATOR APP

Body mass index calculator is a technique to find whether an


individual
is physically healthy or not. It does so by taking values of height
and weight from the user and then it calculates a value that
decides whether a person is healthy, underweight or overweight.
The formula to calculate the value is the body weight divided by
the square of the height, where weight is taken in kg whereas
height is taken in cm.Unit-kg/m^2

Values that decide whether a person is healthy or not are as

18.5-25 Normal

CONCLUSION

Android is a vast growing operating system that keeps on


updating as well as improving day by day. It has widespread
features that work efficiently in combination of its operating
system. It has a large number of user base that makes it a
trusted platform. A great amount of work goes in working on an
android application. Also nowadays it is very important to start
learning working on an application.
