Mbo Assignment

Management by objectives (MBO) is a systematic approach where management focuses on achievable goals using available resources. The five steps of MBO include reviewing organizational objectives, setting employee objectives for the next operating period, monitoring progress, rewarding achievement, and evaluating performance. MBO emphasizes achieving organizational goals but developing objectives can be time consuming for both managers and employees. MBO is appropriate for knowledge-based enterprises when employees are competent and the goal is to build self-leadership skills and initiative.
