Reasons of Out-of-

School Youths in
Dropping Out From
School
S.Y 2016-2017
STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM:
1.What is the Demographic
profile of the Respondents
in according to Age, Sex
and Socio-Economic Status?

2. What are the reasons

why they stop attending in
School?
3. W hat are the best solution to
be implemented so that the
out-of-school youth availability
decreases
importance of the
study:

This study sought to identify

the reasons why students
drop out and why they chose
to become out -of-school
youth.
METHODS/ DATA
COLLECTION
The data used were
qualitative and quantitative
approach and statistical
analysis was conducted. this
research design is used by the
researcher about the situation
of the study conducted. this is
a kind of investigative survey
that describes the result of the
data.
The primary data gathering method
used was survey to determine their
demographic profile according to their

their reasons why they stop attending in
school. the researchers used
questionnaires as the instruments in
collecting the data. the questionnaires
are composed of 10 questions related
on the topic of the research.

of the different ages of the
respondents is :

In interpreting this data, the
researchers used the point
estimation in order to know the
weighted mean in according to
the number of outcomes that the
respondents answer the
possible reason. In calculating
the point estimate, the formula
is shown below:
n = 15 respondents
ẋ = weighted mean
let x = be the no. of outcomes
that the respondents answer the
possible reason.

in finding and calculating the

mean:

After the calculating the difference of the

mean and the number of outcomes (x -ẋ).
the product of x-ẋ is urge to be squared or
denoted as (x-ẋ)². after squaring all of the

attending in school.
RECOMMENDATIONS
This paper recommends that the
Government of Iligan City should give a
direct
scholarship program to those students
who has no sufficient income or financial
support

to send themselves in school,

And of course a summer and
year- round programs

education for those students

who has poor academic
performances in school for them
to

back-off their failed and weak

subjects.
The Government and Superintendent of
public

Instruction should advocate for in

increase learning centers budget so that
this

particular barangay can receive more

funds for after- school and summer
programs.
THANK YOU
AND GOD BLESS

programs, through is it
authorized for up to php2.5
