What is IOT?

The Internet Of Things is the

network of physical objects or

"things" embedded with electronics,

software sensors ,and network

connectivity, which enables these

object to collect and exchange data

History of IOT
Kelvin Ashton, a cofounder and
executive director of Auto-ID
center at MIT, first mentioned the
Internet of Things in a
presentation he made in a
conference at Procter and
Gamble in year 1999
1. Sensors
 In an IOT ecosystem two things
are very important the internet
and phisical devices like
sensors.
 The main purpose of the sensor
is to collect data from the
surrounding environment.
Some Sensors used
in IOT

Temperature sensor Pressure sensor

Proximity sensor
Internet growth

Use of IOT
 Connect with things
 Monitor things
 Search for things
 Manage things
 Control things
 Play with things
Challenges of
lOT
 Big data
 Connection to 5000 things in everyday
 Too much complexity
 Influence of organization in the society
 Advertising industry
Criticisms and controversies of IOT
Scholars and social observers and pessimist have
doubt about the promises of the ubiquitous
computing revolution
 Privacy
 Security
 Autonomy and control
 Social control
 Political manipulation
 Design
 Environmental impact
 Influence human moral decision
making
