Machine
A machine is configured as part of the installation.

A machine entry is made up of the following:

• Token (Context Path)

• IP Address

Usage Groups

 Usage Groups are used to group usage partitions for different


periods.
 Usage partitions for the same period or overlapping periods
cannot be added to the same group.

Create Usage Group

 There are two ways to create a Usage Group


 Manual – Each partition has to be created manually.
 Automatic – Partitions get created automatically based on
frequency specified.

Configuration of Usage Servers

 Usage groups get attached to Usage Servers.


 Usage servers are a combination of Data Source Location and
Data Source Connection.
 Usage Servers can be accessed by selecting Admin >
Reference Table > Usage Server

Create Usage Server – Create New
Usage Server
 From the Common Tasks frame, click New
 Enter a desired name for the New Usage Server:

Note: If the Usage Database resides on the same machine, the


Machine does not need to be configured (as it was already
configured at the time of installation). If it is on a different
machine then a new Machine needs to be added.

Usage Group – Attaching Usage
Server
 After the Usage Groups have been created, it needs to be
attached to the Usage Server.
 Select the Usage Group that you have just created.
 From the Usage Servers pane select Attach Usage Server

 From the list of Usage Server, select the required Usage


Server.

Create Table Definition

 If a new Control Point has to be added, a new Table Definition


may have to be created.
 Table Definition can be accessed by selecting Admin > Table
Definition.
 There are two ways to create a Table Definition.
 Create New fields for table definition from Moneta.
 Import the Output Record Type from Diamond.

Adding Fields
 Table Definition can be created manually in Moneta.
 They can be either used to create a Usage table (Partitioned)
or Reference table (Standard).

Diamond
 In Diamond the Output Record Definition defines the Data
Fields, their Names and their Data Type that the fields in the
Data Definition File are to be mapped into.
 An existing Output Record Type can be imported from
Diamond.

Create Table Instance

 A Table Instance is based on a Table Definition and is a


placeholder for where data can be stored.
 A Table Instance can also be referred to as a Control Point.

 Table Instances can be added as Control Points.

Configuring Stream Stages

 After adding the Control Points, Stream Stages have to be


configured.
 Stream Controller and Task Controller have to be stopped
before making any changes to Stream Stages.

that data parsing and data loading activities have been
complete.

Add Parse Stream Stage –

 Parse Stream Stages has 2 stages of configuration
 Configuring Properties and configuring Parse Output
Mappings.
 The Configuring Properties frame will help users in defining
the file that needs to be used for parsing and a few other parse
related concepts.

Configuring Parse Output Mappings
 Parse Output Mappings configuration helps uses to define the
table where the data needs to be loaded and also what output
has to be loaded.

 Data Load stage is added to carry out dataload activities.

Triggers

Triggers

Triggers define a sequence of actions which


run after a particular event occurs. Triggers are used by
the Stream Controller to both watch for new files and to
schedule new Tasks to process data.
There are two Trigger Types:
(1) File Trigger
(2) Task Completed Trigger

 Select System > Triggers and create a New trigger

 Actions are configured to triggers to instigate a series of tasks or


actions when parsing is complete.

will create a Data Load Task.
