 Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme
launched in 2018, under the Ayushman Bharat Mission in
India.

 On September 23rd 2018 , the Prime Minister Narendra Modi


launched Ayushman Bharat world’s largest govt.- funded
healthcare scheme in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi . The scheme
became operational on 25th September.

 The scheme is targeted at poor and vulnerable families that


comes under SECC-2011 data.
 SECC-2011 is a study of socio economic status of rural and
urban households and allows ranking of households based on
predefined parameters.
 The key rationale behind conducting a socio-economic and
caste census was to assess the population that is actually
below the poverty line (BPL).

BELOW POVERTY LINE


It is an economic benchmark used by the government of India to
indicate economic disadvantage and to identify people who earn
less than Rs.27,000 per annum is qualified as a beneficiary
under the BPL (below poverty line).
 Aadhar ID linked with valid bank account
 Age proof documents
 Caste certificate
 Family structure
 Respective special category certificates
 Income certificates
 Contact information
 Identification details
 Scanned copy of aadhar card
 Government provides treatment of Rs.500,000 yearly to
suffered families.

 Around 1350 medical procedures are included.

 Post hospitalization expenses are covered.

 Hospitals will not be allowed to charge any additional money


from beneficiaries for the treatment .

 40% of population will get benefit.


The list of medical Treatments along with its price as fixed
by central govt. under Ayushman Bharat Yojana scheme is as
follows :-
 Knee Implant - Rs.90,000
 Bypass Surgery- Rs.1.10 lakh
 Knee Surgery -Rs.25000
 Cervical Surgery-Rs.20,000
 Arthroscopy surgery - Rs.20,000
 Surgery for removal of uterus - Rs.50,000
 Dental

 Fertility related procedures

 Drugs and alcohol induced illness

 Suicide
 Largest government funded scheme.

 The yojana came into work with 5 times more profit .

 Government required approx Rs.12,000 crore fund


expenditure.

 The expenditure incurred in premium payment is shared


between Central and State Governments in 60:40 ratio.
 The plan was launched on September 23. Since then, 6.73
lakh patients have availed the benefits of the scheme.

 Ayushman bharat could actually be a game changer and help


improve the socio economic condition of India.
