Overview of DPP Basic Program

Self-Paced eLearning Course
Description

This Self-eLearning course will provide participants

an opportunity to go through a learning experience
offered by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO)
as an introductory online training via self-paced
modules. Considered as first in the three-stage APO
Productivity Practitioner’s Certification Process, this
overview will share with the participants the design of
the e-learning program and the requirements for
course completion.
APO Productivity Practitioners’ Certification Process
(Three Major Steps)
• APO Issues PN for the DPP: Basic at least 4 months before the course starts.
• Selection of participants as usual based on nominations received from NPOs
at least one month before the course starts.
• All selected participants are voluntarily asked by the APO to take self-learning
e-course and pass it, only if they are interested to become APO Certified
Step 1 Productivity Practitioners. Those who pass e-course become potential
candidates for certified practitioners (level 1). Others will remain general APO
participants.

• All selected participants attend face-to-face course and also take examination
at the end as usual.
• Specific project assignments are given to only those candidates for certified
practitioners who pass face-to-face exam (level 2). Assignments to be prepared
Step 2 by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in consultation with the
APO Secretariat.

• Candidates for certified practitioners carry out assignments and submit project
reports to the APO Secretariat and DAP for review (level 3) . Candidates will
be given 3-5 months to carry out assignment at their own cost in their home
countries.
Step3 • The APO and DAP will review the project report and decide to certify candidate
or not
• APO will award a registration-based APO Certificate to the successful
candidates.
APO Productivity Practitioners’ Certification Process
(10 Sub-Steps)

2. NPOs nominate candidates as

specified in the PN

3. APO makes selection of 18 overseas +

6 local participants (total 24) as usual and
issues LAc to them

Out of 24 selected candidates

4. APO advises selected participants to
few may take the e-course. For
complete and pass self-learning e –course if

participants pass the e-course
Productivity Practitioners

APO Productivity Practitioners’ Certification Process
(10 Sub-Steps)

Productivity Practitioners, say for example
10 pass the exam.

7.All participants receive standard APO Certificate of Attendance at

the end of the course + In addition 10 candidates who passed get
assignment to be carried out within 3 to 5 months

8. All participants go back to their home countries after completion of the

face-to-face course

9. 10 candidates carry out assignment and submit a project report through

NPO within 3 to 5 months to the APO and DAP. The APO and DAP review
and decide to certify say 5 candidates based on the quality and content of
the report.
